Puzzle: Water Sort Guide

Basic Controls

1. Tap a test tube to lift its top water layer.
2. Tap a second tube to pour — only works if the target has free space and the same colour on top, or is empty.
3. Continue until every tube holds exactly one colour.
4. Undo reverses the last pour; Shuffle redistributes layers when you are truly stuck.
5. Progress auto-saves between sessions.

Strategy & Advanced Tips

• Preserve at least one empty tube. It acts as a universal buffer; without it you will hit dead ends on levels with 5+ colours.
• Identify the "lonely" colour. A colour that appears in only two tubes must be merged early — if you bury one instance under other layers you will waste many moves digging it out.
• Work top-down on tall stacks. Tubes with 3+ mixed layers are harder to resolve later; start reducing them before your free space shrinks.
• Think two pours ahead. Each pour changes the top colour of both source and target — plan so the revealed colour is useful elsewhere.
• Use the Undo button freely. There is no penalty; trial-and-error is a legitimate strategy on puzzle levels 40+.

Playing on Mobile vs Desktop

On mobile, tubes are arranged vertically and fit comfortably in portrait mode. Desktop players can click tubes with the mouse or use number keys 1-9 to select and pour. Both versions save progress locally in the browser.

Common Mistakes

• Pouring a colour onto a tube that already has a different colour underneath, creating a deeper mess.
• Filling the last empty tube with a "convenient" single layer and losing your only buffer.
• Restarting the level instead of using Undo to step back one move.
